Sweet Mama's - Bourke Street Melb, Australia
Had a café at Sweet Mama’s Café today. Its on Bourke at the bottom of the Commbank, across from Targe(t). Inside it’s a nook… with a galaxy of food,.. but the coffee, what about the coffee…?? My Long Mac took no time to come out and was served at a suitable temperature, and it looked ok… (no coffee art to speak of). Truth is that the coffee lacked creaminess, was slightly bitter and was a tad watery. They use Coffex which is not at the top of my list of premium coffees. Sweet Mama’s does a loud street music thing oo which was a little off putting. Its not the place to do some work, nor to get into any significant negotiation. Ok for a hook up with an old friend.. probably in summer rather than the pits of winter!! No beans...

Just wanted to agree, as a rule, I try to stay at least 30 feet from anywhere that has a "Coffex" sign. It's always terrible!
You have got to be kidding me.
It is obvious you grew up drinking Pablo and International Roast and obviously set your standards on those.
This cafe makes one of the best coffees you will get anywhere.
I suppose you think Gloria Jeans is the ducks nuts as well.
You have really made me laugh this morning.
They use zenefrago now (can't remember the spelling) (red logo though) and ditched the Coffex.
SM is the best coffee I have found in Melb on my journeys.
The food is awesome, the music sensational, George and Ari are excelent hosts.
The reason why I am on this blog is because I just woke up in Texas, after having a dream about one of Ari's latte's and a SM orange and poppy seed muffin - so I had to google SM.
