The Melbourne Coffee Review

Melbourne has some of the grooviest places to have a coffee. But where is the best coffee? I've had coffee's across the globe, but to be sure, here in the CBD of Melbourne (Australia) we are a bunch of coffee snobs (especially in Collins Street), and do not suffer bad coffee well. 1 bean = bloody worth looking up, 2 beans = something extra ordinary here. 3 Beans = close to sex. These are my reviews for them that give a bean!! Peter Christo [Enquiries +61(0)412133363]

Florian Coffee Patisserie - Tunanda, Barrosa Valley South Australia.

The family and I hit the Barossa Valley for Easter. Of course we had to have a sniff of the quality of coffee in the region, and we were pleasantly surprised. Behold we even met young Stephanie Edson, the 2nd Prize winner in the Barossa Barista Championships. She was quite knowledgeable and delighted us with her latte concoction. They use Monjava Coffee, a local SA combination roast originating from South America. It an excellent blend. Thankyou,... 2 beans.

Paris End Cafe - 20 Collins St, Melbourne Australia.

I took a chance on this place a couple of times. The first time they managed to have me wait about 15 mins to get my coffee, but to my surprise it was a very smooth brew. I penciled it in for a second view, hopeful that I had found another secret coffee haunt!! They use a brand I haven't tried before, 'Veneziano'. The first time I had it is was lovely and smooth and totally made up for the delay. The second time it was like water. It lacked flavour, and strength, especialy in the 8am rush. Again he faulted, but nothing serious. I think they take their coffee seriously there, but the business runs with a lack of energy. Maybe its just me. I will give it another go. @ 2.80 for a coffee,... it was on par around town.. but .. for me, no cigar. I'll be back.
