I was up in Sydney early last week for Pitch Club. I hit a few coffee places, but nothing to rave home about. One of the more aesthetically pleasing places was AWABA Beachside Café, where the views and ambiance was so groovy you could forget that the coffee was average. The truth is that the coffee was ok. They cared enough to bring out the long macchiato (double mach in Sydney language) in a fit state to drink, hot and creamy. The views of the beach were great and the food delectable. Strange that they don’t do poached eggs though. Go figure. I sipped coffee with my dynamic duo friends Nick and Maria from Fitzone. We yabbered about all things philosophical and I briefly (and privately) reminisced about my youth as an Australian soldier as I watched the lads from a near by barracks go through their own hell. Awaba rocks, a decent coffee and definitely worth a visit. One bean.
