International Coffee Expo

March 7, 2008

Well what an awesome day!
As part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, 2008, there was a caffeine addicts and chocolate connoisseurs extravaganza down at Docklands on March 2, 2008.
Well what a celebration it was, both the Java as well as the Cocoa were gloriously represented.
Everything was perfect; the weather superb, the crowd buzzing, and was it any wonder with so much quality coffee and chocolate on offer, the scenery reminiscent of a European getaway, the overall vibe, to die for.
Truly a memorable event, well done, THE AGE! And Melbourne.
If only such events were more regular and more organized, it’s obvious there’s a huge interest and demand to have such gatherings and festivals, in this the country’s café and coffee capital.
Maybe MCR could organize, I put my hand up, anyone else interested?
Think about just how cool it would be if we could have regular events on this scale.
Highlights of Sunday:
-Five Senses
-St ALI (maybe he should be first?!?!)
-Toby’s Estate (WOW)
-Coffeesnobs.
Definitely not plugging them, well maybe a bit, but my GOD, the Demon GOD of the Devils Cup, these guys certainly know their coffee.
Ofcourse the Barista Comps and the Ethiopian Roasting Ceremony were amazing.
If you missed it you shouldn’t have, plenty of beans everywhere…..
