The Melbourne Coffee Review

Melbourne has some of the grooviest places to have a coffee. But where is the best coffee? Here in the CBD of Melbourne (Australia) we are a bunch of coffee snobs (especially in Collins Street), and do not suffer bad coffee well. 1 bean = bloody worth looking up, 2 beans = something extra ordinary here. 3 Beans = close to sex. These are my reviews for them that give a bean!! [Bus Enq +61(0)4121 33363, HotShot Enq Call Steve Agi on +61(0)43221 0963]

Numero UNO

UN Caffe Bar

368 Little Collins St

Melbourne CBD 3000

This hip and trendy little gem was quite the discovery as I was aimlessly meandering through the streets of Melbourne in search of a caffeine hit! So many cafes, so little quality!
It must have been the bright red that got me, STOP!
I have always been a sucker for a latte in red.
The menu was funky and fresh, the staff hip and friendly, the coffee was illy.
To me those four little words say so much; the final word in coffee!
The single blend, quality guaranteed, famous, recognizable and consistent right around the globe.
Un Caffe is a franchise with two in the CBD and a few in Adelaide, heavily illy branded and recognizable by its distinctive red décor.
George, the owner and barista presented my espresso in a warm demitasse cup, and as I peered inside the luminous reflective glow was reminiscent of Ayers Rock at dusk, quite the sight.
The complex flavors blended perfectly on the palate, as it circled my mouth for hours, truly illy has proved once again that it is Numero UNO, and judging by the flocking crowds who seemed to be enjoying Un Caffé’s coffee and sumptuous fare from its exquisite menu, I think this is one of Melbourne’s best kept secrets.
If you’re in the area make sure you stop in, a solid ONE bean, Keep it up!

Coffee: illy

Looks like a great place to enjoy a coffee when next in town. My favourite places so far have been Cafe' E Cucina (I think it is called) across from the Victoria Market. They served a lovely blend of coffee and surprised us with some biscotti too.
Cafe Sienna is another place I have liked to go, back when I worked close to there at Chapel Street.
I havew spoken of a few places before in my blog around Melbourne, and I might have to start doing it again as there are so many great places to go...now, I need a coffee :)
I got a De Longhi coffee maker for Christmas and so when I find a good bean I just have to buy it! :)

i think you were being too generous even giving it a bean! i'm from adelaide and i have to admit, they serve the weakest coffee that tastes like dirty wash water! i'm quite ashamed really.
