This little Espresso Bar nestled in leafy Elwood, is a bit of a spin off from the legendary Combi Van Mobile Coffee, serving the same AMAZING coffee that has made the Van legendary at all reputable events around the state and very often interstate.
Their specialty roasted beans are air dried in the Yarra Valley, the proud owner Anthony was quick to inform me, and let me tell you they will tantalize and delight even the most discerning palate, as the complexity and sublimeness of this Espresso will rock your world!!!
Plenty of mouthfeel, back palate and an intense finish compliment the extraordinary nose at play here.
My wife ordered a double shot café latte, who in fact is now quite the coffee connoisseur herself, after accompanying me to so many amazing cafes, and we were both impressed by just how well textured and velvety the milk was, perfect temperature too, and by the obvious ease at which the shot of espresso cut through the milk, quite effortlessly.
Combi Coffee, is all about coffee and quality, he even uses bottled filtered water both in the van and in store to ensure consistency and quality, now that’s passion!

Had a long mac last Saturday. It was sublime. Perfect amount of cofee extracted with a nice little dollop of textured milk on top. Beautiful tasting coffee with a very nice after-taste. Go down there and enjoy!
I will travel across Melbourne for one of Anthony’s coffees… He is the grand poo-bah of coffee greatness and Combi Coffee a magnet for the discerning coffee palate. Not to mention a top bloke, great atmosphere, awesome music. I would rather go without than endure the ‘brown drink’ others serve. But I’ll NEVER go without at Combi Coffee.

Decent coffee, shame about the owner – that kind of fake, over the top we’re-all-friends-until-you’ve-paid-then-drink-up-get-out attitude makes me ill.

…on the other hand if you have something that will benefit the owners or rather something they WANT then you are more then welcome to stay a little longer and disclose of this over some coffee. yes under the false pretense of wholesomeness comes this little caffe whose intentions are far from ‘community’ but are much more intuned with inclusiveness, and personal gain..ah what a bore and so last century=way behind the times…
