Could it be true, could it be possible, a new Cafenatics store at this end of town??

Or was I just hallucinating as I spied the sign down this narrow alleyway of Swanston St?!?!?

No, there it was, it was real, it was true, not a mirage, but a deep well of divine refreshment for this weary pilgrim.

As I walked up to this shrine to the Java Bean, I noticed the funky décor, the exquisite food on display, the MISTRAL (WOW!) and of course the designer grinder/vase on the communal table, photographed by my mate, Luca (see photo above)

I order a ristretto, quietly confident in this talented barista’s ability to extract a divine drop from the bean on offer….and I was not disappointed with him as he presented me with 15-20 mls of nectar…a dense caramel crema, with insane inflection and so much flavour and complexity that I was blown away.

I followed this up with a café latte and was impressed by the way the espresso managed to effortlessly cut through the milk and present itself to me in all its glory.

The temperature and texture, perfect, the taste and overall experience, sublime.

What an addition to the blandness that otherwise is QV, so much there, so much potential, but nothing to really write home about, until now!

Cafenatics achieve two thumbs up from me and are awarded another 3 BIG beans for the baby of the stores.

Keep up the great work and keep on caffeining on..
