Do you think $355 is a bit pricey for a cup of coffee? Well maybe, but if you are happy to pay this for your meal, a meal that you really enjoyed too, you would at least expect a decent, if not bloody amazing cup of coffee to round off this somewhat pricey fare…..
That’s just my opinion though…I may be wrong!!
I could not even begin to describe what sort of orgasmic ecstasy my palate experienced with the sumptuous fare on offer, a bit pricey though but worth every cent, except for the $4.50 that I was charged for my over-extracted, acrid and burnt offering that was meant to be my after dinner espresso.
Once again this den of ‘fine dining’ seems to focus only on the food and wine not even considering that most people’s final memory of the evening will be their coffee and with coffee this bad I may as well have grabbed one from McCafe on my way home….
Overall though it was an amazing meal, a great night was had by all, worth every cent….apart from the coffee.
No beans at ROCKPOOL, but plenty of fond memories and a hint of burnt coffee aftertaste on the palate, sorry I couldn’t help myself!

Coffee: Vittoria

I have yet to find good coffee at any of the high price/gourmet restaurants that I’ve been to in the past few months. Most of it is generic at best and if I’m saying something like that, you know there’s a problem.
No surprises here! mind you I would have thought their coffee should be A1.. but rarely the case!
What is it with restaurants and coffee? Seems like the last impression of the meal, which is often the coffee, should be a huge emphasis
