100 Coffee's

December 5, 2009

121 Glenferrie Rd
Malvern 3144 VIC
Eden-1
Eden-2

Three year old Vance and I cruised Glenferrie Road looking for a coffee gem, as if we were hunters looking for a prey.

In the heart of Armadale (or is it Malvern?) we spotted Eden Espresso. It looked packed, but it’s style and vibe promised a great coffee experience, and I was not disappointed. This place rocks. We settled into the back room, and with the soundtrack of Top Gun taking me back to yesteryear, I sipped my first Long mac EE and I was delighted. The first thought was simple yet elegant, the way coffee used to be. I downed it in no time and it left a lingering yet delightful feeling, maybe it was the memories Top Gun rekindled of motorbikes and hot summer nights twenty years ago.

The follow up latte was smooooothe!!! And creamy. It had a great balance of milk to coffee and serverd at the perfect temp. As usual what gets me is the attitude of the staff and here the guys are great, but maybe its Vance that attacts the attention. Who knows?

    Peter,
Can you categorise this post, thx!
I’m guessing it’s one bean, but doesn’t say anywhere.

Glad to see a place rating in that area of Glenferrie Road – a semi-frequent stomping ground for us :-) .

we are revising the rating system to harmonize with the guide and iPhone app plans…

Coffee may be great but service is pretty bad. On a recent visit it took 15 minutes for me to be noticed by wait-staff and after I placed my order another 15 minutes to get a coffee. In fact food that I’d ordered arrived before the coffee. Excuse given was “Oh we’ve been having some trouble with our computer lately”

    Hi,

Does anybody know the brand of coffee used at “Eden Espresso”, as the reviewer does not mention this anywhere in his review

  5. Pete says:

The coffee beans are from Sydney-based ex-Campos boutique roaster “The Golden Cobra”. They use a FT and organic blend. A 2nd grinder has just been attained and will soon be serving a single-origin as well as house blend.
